Markus Walter completes McLaren driver line-up
As the silly season proceeds and two of the top teams already announced their driver line-up, Walter has signed for the second cockpit at McLaren. Rumours said he would take a seat at Mercedes GP to be part of a german team, but now he'll drive with Adrian Holm in the british located team. After a very disappointing season for McLaren they are now going to attack again in 2011.
I'm very proud to get him into the team. I think he can deliver good results with a good car and a teammate who really is a challenge. The whole team is now looking forward to the first testing days and the beginning of the season. We have two great drivers who can spice up the front of the grid.
I'm really happy to get the oppurtunity to drive for McLaren. A lot people expected me to go to Mercedes, but I was very unsure how the team will do next year. Now I'm in an excellent position to go for good results with a very fast teammate. After struggling in the first races I felt better from race to race and in the end I was able to score some important points. My goal is to get a feeling for the car quickly and fight for podiums. That's a very big task, but I'll take the challenge.
